A basketball-first team app built by a coach who got tired of running travel ball with a group chat, a stale spreadsheet, and a parent keeping book in GameChanger. Schedule, stats, film, playbook, and a recap parents actually read — in one place.

Built by a coach, for coaches
I've spent years on the sideline of youth and AAU basketball. I'm not a D1 coach and I'm not going to pretend to be the world's foremost expert on the game. What I am is a coach who's run enough travel-ball weekends to know the apps we use don't fit the way we actually work.
Every coach I know runs the same Sunday-night routine: GroupMe pings, a spreadsheet three seasons out of date, a parent keeping book in GameChanger that's almost-but-not-quite right, and a half-typed eval for the kid whose dad keeps asking. StatHoops is what I wished I'd had — basketball-first, not baseball adapted to hoops, and built around the parts of the job nobody else builds for. If you sign up and email me a question, I'm the one writing back.
I got sick of bouncing between TeamSnap, GameChanger, and a group chat just to run one team. I needed one that actually worked the way I coach.

The StatHoops Workflow
The product story should match how youth teams actually operate: schedule the week, study film, develop players, track progress, and prepare the next practice.
Create games, practices, and team events in one place. Players and parents can see what is coming and respond without digging through old messages.
Keep film study focused with clips, tags, and comments. Coaches can point players to the possessions that matter instead of sending a whole game file.
Players get lightweight, gamified development tasks tied to the things coaches want them working on, so improvement does not depend on one postgame speech.
Stats help coaches understand progress, rotations, and player growth. They sit beside the schedule, film, and training work instead of living in a separate tool.
Coaches can create and share plays from the same hub the team uses for the week, keeping practice plans, clips, and play diagrams connected.
The Whole Program
Coaches need control. Players need direction. Parents need clarity. StatHoops keeps those jobs together without turning the product into a maze.

Built For The Whole Team
Plan the week, share plays, assign film clips, review stats, and keep the team moving without rebuilding the same update in five different places.
Know what to work on next, watch the right clips, see progress over time, and get simple training prompts that feel achievable.
See the schedule, RSVP, follow updates, and understand what the team is working on without hunting through old group chats.
Create your team and get the whole platform — stats, playbooks, film, chat, scheduling, photos, training, and recaps. When we introduce pricing it'll be one flat fee per team for the season: the coach pays once, and every player, parent, and fan on the roster stays free. No per-player charge, no premium tier. Teams who join now keep founding-team perks.
Straight answers
The product is built and run by a real coach — me, Brian. We use AI inside the app only where it earns its keep: reading the numbers off a photo of your scorebook and drafting a recap you then edit. The marketing isn't AI-generated and the roadmap isn't either. If you email me, you get me, not a chatbot.
GameChanger is a fan app that needs a parent scoring every play live. StatHoops is a coach app: snap a photo of the paper scorebook after the game and the box score builds itself — plus playbook, film clips, public profiles, and a trophy case GameChanger doesn't touch. They do baseball best. We do basketball.
They don't have to. Every team page, game recap, and player profile works on the open web — it's just a link you can text or email. Parents who want push notifications can install the app; everyone else can read the box score on Monday morning in their browser.
It's free while we're in beta. When we introduce pricing, the plan is one flat price per team for the season — the coach pays once and every player, parent, and fan on the roster stays free. Teams who join during the beta keep founding-team perks.
No. The most-used feature is photo import: snap a picture of the paper scorebook, the app reads it, you check it, and the recap drafts. The live tracker is there for the games you want it — not a requirement.
Yes, by default. Every team starts private. You choose, per game, whether the box score is public, and per player whether their profile is public. Nothing gets published without you flipping a switch.
