Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo through our authentication provider (Clerk).
Team and player data: Coaches and team managers provide player names, jersey numbers, game statistics, schedules, and related team information. Parents and players may view this data as team members.
Uploaded content: Photos of scorebooks, game film links, chat messages, and other content you upload to the platform.
Usage data: We collect anonymized analytics about how you interact with StatHoops to improve the product (page views, feature usage). We use Vercel Analytics for this purpose.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve StatHoops features
- Process scorebook images through AI to extract game statistics
- Generate AI-powered coaching insights, practice plans, and player analytics
- Send notifications including game reminders, chat digests, and team announcements
- Respond to support requests
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers that help us operate (Supabase for database hosting, Clerk for authentication, OpenAI for AI features, Resend for email delivery, Vercel for hosting)
- Your team members — statistics and team data are visible to other members of the same team based on their role (coach, player, parent)
- Public game pages — when a coach publishes a game as public, that box score is viewable by anyone with the link
4. Data Involving Minors
StatHoops is designed for use by coaches and parents managing youth basketball teams. Player data is entered and managed by coaches and parents — not by minors directly. We take the protection of information relating to minors seriously and comply with applicable child privacy regulations.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication through Clerk, and row-level security policies on our database. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at support@stathoops.com. Team data (stats, games) is managed by the team coach and may persist if the team remains active.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@stathoops.com.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notice.
